Speaking up about the need to have the right people around women at birth is so important; when women have those people who help them feel good about themselves, feel strong and powerful with them through birth, then women will emerge from birthing their babies feeling on top of the world. I have done a lot of work on myself to heal from the trauma of my first birth 14years ago, I have had two very different but equally amazing,empowering births since then. My own personal experience... helps motivate my current studies and will surely shape the sort of midwife I become.
